We had a very successful Sparring Tournament at our Alamo school on Saturday. Congratulations to everyone that participated! Sparring is one aspect of martial arts training that will teach you a lot about range, timing and courage. We are very proud of all of our kids, teens and adults that took part.
A big thank you to all of our International Referees and judges that were there for the event. Our tournament wouldn’t have been possible without all of you. And a special thank you to Mr. Zipkin, who was the organizer of the tournament. He did a fantastic job and it ran very smoothly, even with a large number of competitors and only two rings due to our first spring tournament practice. Mr. Zipkin has done a great job growing the Alamo junior dragon sparring class (along with Mr. Cusack) and you could really see the result of their efforts with all of our great competitors at the tournament.
If you or your child would like to participate in the sparring classes, please let us know. There is enough time to get them involved now before our West Coast Regional Spring Tournament on April 5th!
The 2014 Sparring Tournament was a great afternoon of friendly and supportive competition between our students! Here are some pictures from the day!
