| Essay Topics from Master Buckley:
1. “The key is to control your emotions. Either you will control your emotions or they are going to control you. It really is that simple. But remember, you cannot control what you do not first understand. The first step is to understand why a given emotion such as fear, anger, or frustration, wants to emerge as the dominant presence within us in any given situation, especially one filled with pressure. The given emotion will attempt to shut out all other things except the pure, blinding sensation that threatens to put a strangle hold on your cooler head. It will fill your body with incredible feelings you couldn’t hope to control if you don’t fully internalize these concepts.” 2. “Truth is our best companion, but at times seems like our worst enemy. Struggling against it only strengthens its strangle hold around us, suffocating our dreams and extinguishing our hopes. Embracing it brings pain sometimes, but with this pain we know we are alive and well. Acceptance of the truth heals and breathes life into our hopes and dreams again, renewing our quest as we continue along. This much I have learned from my teacher.” |
