As we all know, the horrible events last week in Japan have been devastating. While we all are sending our chi to Japan, one of our students, Ms. Shimotake, is trying to help in another way. I received this information from her that I would like to pass along. Please do what you can to help her in her efforts. There will be donation boxes in all schools starting on Tuesday.

“On March 11, 2011, an earthquake with a magnitude of 9.0 hit off the coast of Japan, causing a devastating tsunami. This is the strongest earthquake to hit Japan in recorded history.

This is some information that I found from the Japanese news, these are the most recent statistics.

I am collecting donations to help the victims from the tsunami and the earthquakes. A lot of people have lost their homes, and need supplies such as food and water. It is also very cold right now, and they all stay in crowded shelters such as school gyms, with no heaters.”

This is a truly inspirational kid.

This is a video compilation showing some amazing things that the human body can do. Some of the people on the video may be a little crazy for attempting the things they do, but I’ve heard it said that we’re a little crazy with the things we do in Bok Fu Do too. Regardless, it’s hard not to appreciate the capabilities of the human body while watching this video.

10 forward snap kicks (each leg)
10 wheel kicks (each leg)
10 rear kicks (each leg)
1 form from your belt – all out
10 techniques from your belt – all out

Workout:
For time:
70 Jump Rope Jumps
60 Mountain Climbers
50 Broken Bow Jumps
40 V Ups
30 Clapping Push Ups (or regular push ups modified)
20 Horse Stance Squat Jumps
10 Bok Fu Burpees

Warm Down:
5 minutes of belt torture for hamstrings/groin
