Today we celebrate the birthday of 1st degree IBFDA Black Belt and 2 time world Champion, the amazing Ms. Liu!
Ms. Liu began her studies in 2000 with her family, and went on to earn her black belt in 2005. She is one of very few black belts who earned their black belt during her college years — the extra incredible part of Ms. Liu’s black belt journey is that she did it all while attending Cornell University on the East Coast! Through her sheer determination and grit, she would come home on holiday breaks and practically live at the school, dedicating herself fully to her incredible accomplishment of earning her Richard Lee Bok Fu Do black belt.
She has continued the trend of incredible accomplishments, since she moved back to the bay area after college and went on to commute from the South Bay to the East West schools multiple times a week and won TWO world championships (2012 & 2015), the second shortly after giving birth to her first child!
Most recently, she has become the most recent addition to the East West management, and has already proven to be a valuable addition to the team. The students she works with appreciate her clear, straight forward instruction, and her class mates can always count on her to bring a focused, sincere energy to the mat.
Ms. Liu, we think you are absolutely wonderful, and we wish you all the best this world has to offer on your birthday, and all your days to come. May we share many more kung fu adventures together!
