Amazing Christmas lights!

I don’t know about you guys, but none of the houses in my neighborhood looked like this! Incredible Christmas light show!

Late Christmas eve, we found out we were having a unexpected family member for Christmas. I didn’t have any extra presents around the house, but rather than not having anything for them to open, I went to the kitchen and spent an hour baking cookies. I wrapped them up in a package so at least there was a little something for them. As we were opening presents, I was so glad that they were included and I could tell that they were too!

Keep up those acts of kindness. We are half way through our challenge! It’s easy to do one or two days, but can you do ALL 12 days of Bok Fu Spirit?

What are safe fats and cooking oils? Make sure to watch the short video at the end on how they process Canola oil!

One of the Safeway helpers is a very sweet gentleman. He always comes over to me to ask how he can help. So today I asked him if I could buy him a drink from Starbucks. He was so appreciative but told me that he is eating healthy, so no coffee or chocolate. I was stumped. So after I left and was unloading my groceries at home, I saw my orange tree. I picked some oranges and took them back for him. Wow, what a great feeling to have something so small so appreciated. I’m loving these 12 days!!!

Tonight we stopped at a grocery store for the first night of our vacation. The store had a “Food for Families” deal where the store would donate groceries for a family worth double the amount of your donation. I thought that was a pretty good deal so donated groceries for two families.

To all gentlemen, you always do things for your loved ones, but under certain circumstances, it’s okay for them to take care of you. Carlton has been having knee problem for the last week or so and this morning, it seemed worse, that he couldn’t move around. I cooked him breakfast, I brought him medicine, helped wearing his sock and shoe (yep, that’s right :), helped him around … I could tell that he was really uncomfortable that someone is taking care of him, but I know he was appreciative. and for that, I think the problem seems subside …

One of my mom’s cousins came over to our home, and my parents and I decided to give her a copy of my book. We wrapped it up and gave it to her as a holiday gift.

The flat carts at Home depot are very hard to see, Im sure many people scratched up their cars when some one left one out and it rolled away. So I put mine away and parked a whole bunch more. Happy parking fellow shoppers!

We had friends over for a post-Christmas get-together. We hadn’t seen each other in two years. I decided to wrap small gifts for them. They each brought home a set of handmade wine charms, made by me.

In the past week, I’ve dropped money in homeless shelter cans, donated several bags of clothing, bedding and a french horn to the Salvation Army, got something off the top shelf at the store for an elderly lady, helped and elderly gentleman who stumbled in the produce section, bought coffee for the four people behind me in line and dropped off 10 cases of food at the Contra Costa Food Bank.

Who knows what the next week will bring!
