A Thankful Thanksgiving!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

“Would you sell both your eyes for 1 million dollars or your leg, or your hand, or your hearing? Add up what you do have my friends, and you’ll find that you truly wouldn’t sell what you have for all the gold in the world. The best things in this life are yours right now, this moment.” (From Grandmaster Lee’s Writing: As your lives unfold, each of you will be touched by both good fortune and great adversity)

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year! It’s a day to give thanks for what we have and those we have in our lives. If your Thanksgiving is like most, it will be a busy day. Whether you are traveling somewhere or preparing for others to come to your home, the chaos of the day doesn’t generally lend itself to taking time to reflect and to give ample thanks. We have a family tradition that before we all start eating, everyone has to go around the table say what they are thankful for. It helps to remind me to take time, each Thanksgiving, to really think about all that I have to be thankful for. And there’s always A LOT to think about!

So here is mine:
I know that I have so much to be thankful for this year. I wake up every morning excited about the day ahead of me. I am fortunate enough to be doing what I love and living out my dream. I am able to surround myself on a daily basis with people that I care about and that care about me as well. I am lucky, like many, to have a family that I love, but that I also love spending time with. I am thankful to have my health, and to be continuously working to improve it everyday. I am grateful for the wonderful people that have touched my life, both past and present. I am blessed with a life that I love to live!

Of course Thanksgiving is the perfect day to reflect upon what we are thankful for but wouldn’t it be a shame if we only reflected on those things one Thursday in November? Here are a few things that I’ll remind myself of tomorrow (and hopefully everyday for that matter). Take time, give thought, be generous and acknowledge. Take time to reflect quietly on your life. Give thought to all that you have to be thankful for. Be generous to those with less and not envious of those with more. Finally, acknowledge those in your life that you love and tell them what they mean to you.

So, what are you thankful for?

I know I speak for all of us when I say that we are all thankful for you! 🙂

I am also thankful for my beautiful little family, as well as my amazing big Bok Fu Family.

Hmm…. I will continue my long list on my own, but thank you for the gentle reminder of what Thanksgiving should be about.
